When you are looking for a “go to” guy for the long pass, the Tri-City Titans look to Ben Ball, a 193 lb 5’11” a WR from Oakland, CA. Born and raised in Oakland, Ben attended Hayward High School where he played WR and FS. Although injured during his junior year, he lettered 2 years while playing for the “Farmers”. Some how he also found time to compete on the track squad, competing in high jump. He made the All Region team “Honorable Mention” in football as a wide receiver.

After graduating from Hayward High, he traveled to Minot, North Dakota, where he started for the varsity team of Minot University as a freshman, a first for the “Beavers”. During his sophomore year he returned to California, playing for the “Gladiators” of Chabot Community College. He then decided to relocate to Iowa, attending Iowa Wesleyan, where he played for two years. His skills as a WR were recognized, earning All League, 2nd Team.

In 2005 he moved to Arizona and found his way to the AzFL where he played for the Phoenix Raiders. In 2006 he earned “All League” as a WR and Kick Return Specialist.” In 2007 he transferred to the Copper Football League, where he played for the Chandler Crusaders. He was one of three players to tally over 1,000 yards as a receiver that year along with his friends Kentrell Williams and Willie Culpepper, who did the same.

The Tri-City Titans saw what he could do and asked him to join the squad in 2008. His skills enabled to the Titans to win the Copper Bowl VI Championship and he was named to the All Star Team. The Titans returned to defend their championship in 2009, and in the Copper Bowl VII game he was named MVP. Talk about talent!

Married for four years to Star, they have two children; a daughter Brooklyn who is 3 years old and a son Tavion who is 1 & 1/2 years old. Currently working for Cox Communications as a Communications Specialist he loves the CFL. “A place where you can play competitive football in a league that is well organized.”

What does the future hold for this young man? Five years from now he hopes to be working for a major marketing firm. A magic moment is his life? …being selected as the MVP in the Copper Bowl VII Championship game. To this he notes, he owes his thanks to the glory of God and his dear wife Star.
